In partnership with Project Heart ReStart, we are working to equip all police officers in Hamilton County and Northern Kentucky with automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Police officers are often the first on the scene before EMS, and having an AED in their vehicle can make the difference between life and death during a cardiac emergency.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the Rotary Club of Cincinnati, The Christ Hospital, and the Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation have teamed up to ensure law enforcement is prepared to respond to cardiac events. For every minute an AED is delayed, the chance of survival decreases by 7-10%. But with immediate access to an AED, survival rates can increase from 10% to 40%.
We’re currently in Phase 2, focusing on providing AEDs to the City of Cincinnati and 25 surrounding communities. We’ve met Goal 1—raising funds to purchase 130 AEDs for Hamilton County Sheriff vehicles—and officers have already used these devices seven times, saving lives that might have been lost. Now, we need your help to finish Phases 2 and 3.
This project is incredibly close to our hearts, and we invite you to join the Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation in supporting this lifesaving mission. Your gift today can help ensure our first responders are ready to act when every second counts. 💓
Thank you for helping us save lives!
